Camino 2026

Published on:

Mid April of this year I will start walking my second Camino de Santiago, again the Camino Francés. This time I will walk it by myself. I have 35 days to do it, from April 16 to May 20. I feel like I have to, although I haven’t figured out why, not yet.

Just like last year, I will start at Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Porte, in France, and go from there. I don’t know how far I will get, probably not all the way to Santiago de Compostela, but … I’ll take it one day at a time and go as far as I can, then take a train or bus the rest of the way to Santiago.

I hope to not have to make too many reservations for stays at albergues or hostels, because I rather would like to see how far, or not so far, I can go each day, and it is hard to know how you’ll feel the next day or two. There are a few towns where I will make reservations, simply because I know that finding a place there without a reservation could be quite difficult. I already have reservations for Saint-Jean and Roncesvalles.

I am looking forward to this, very much!

  1. Wow, Ursula! I can’t believe you’re doing this again, and even more, by yourself! I’m looking forward to follow your journey!

    1. Yeah, I am 🙂 It’s like a big urge, to do this by myself. We’ll see if it works out well.
