On Monday May 4 we walked to León. The walk itself was not too great, getting close to León we walked through industrial/commercial areas, next to busy highways. We were glad to arrive at out hostel, right in the old city, about 3 blocks from the huge cathedral.

I quite liked León, at least the area where we were. We had a very good lunch at a restaurant a block from the cathedral, settled in to our beds at the hostel, cleaned up and rested a bit – then went exploring.

There is way too much to talk about such a place as this is. All I want to show here is a few pictures of the interior of the cathedral. I had never been to a large gothic church before, and I did not realize the beautiful loftiness of the interior. It is simply awe inspiring. I hope my few pictures give just a little taste of it.
