June 2nd – Santiago de Compostela

WE DID IT!

My Compostela

All my stamps from the Camino Francés

Tomorrow a new chapter, our last in Spain. We start to walk to Fisterra, on the Atlantic Ocean. It should be a couple of peaceful walking days, getting to the end of the world as the Romans knew it – and getting ready to go home and resume “normal” life.

June 1st – Almost There

It’s been a long journey. Starting on April 24 at St-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France,

over the Pyrenees into Spain.

A few wet and muddy days, many sunny clear days.

Always following the yellow arrows, shells and other way-signs.

We saw majestic church buildings and quiet, wide open wheat fields,

bridges and sculptures,

and flowers, so many beautiful flowers!

We walked up mountains and through cool forested areas,

and took a bus a couple times.

Tomorrow we will reach Santiago de Compostela. YEAH!
