The flight to Paris was uneventful, quite peaceful actually. I had a window seat looking out right over the middle of the wing, so mostly I saw sky and the airplane wing. The sun went down at the back of the wing at 8:07 PM on Monday,

and rose again at the front of the wing at 12:43 AM on Tuesday, about 4 1/2 hours later.

That’s what you get when you fly East at high speed. Dinner (butter chicken, salad, bread, water) right after sunset, breakfast (weird pastry burrito and coffee) sometime after sunrise. I re-watched the first LOTR movie overnight and slept a little.
After landing in Paris, getting through EES was very easy. There was a long line, but it moved swiftly. All they did is scan my passport and take a picture of my face. Then I retrieved my checked backpack, found the Metro station and got my ticket, rode to Paris proper and walked past the Montparnasse Cemetery to the train station to take the train to Bayonne.

The train arrived right on time in Bayonne. These high speed trains are amazing! It’s about 720 kms from Paris to Bayonne, and I get there in 4 hours. There are two stops in between, Bordeaux and Dax.
I checked in at my hostel, took a good shower, put on some clean clothes. Now I’m going to eat just a bit and then sleep. Good night!
