We had great difficulty finding lodging in between Belorado and Burgos. We decided to skip that section of the Camino, take the bus to Burgos, and take a rest day in Burgos.
We got to Burgos by about 10 in the morning, waited for the Albergue Municipal to open, checked in, cleaned up a bit, and did touristy things the rest of the day.

We visited the Cathedral. It is really big. It is hard to take in all the beautiful exterior architecture and the elaborate interior. Below some pictures of the interior:

There were two humongous tapestries on display in one of the galleries at the Cathedral. They are immense, hand embroidered all over. It is so hard to imagine how it was done, how long it took, how many people worked on it. Below is a picture of one of the tapestries and 3 closeups showing details of the work:

We saw a group of young women dressed in traditional dress:

After that, we had a good meal at a nice restaurant:

Then we took a 40 minute ride on the small tourist train. It was interesting because it went places we would not have known to go left to our own devices. It took us around old Burgos and up to a lookout where you can see the whole city.

We also had an ice cream cone. I had a scoop of turrón flavour. It was very good! Below is a picture of an ice cream store, but not the one where we got ours:

After that it was time to rest for the next day. Good night!
