The day started with rain.

Early Morning in Castrojeriz in Rain

We walked the long uphill out of Castrojeriz in rain, but once on top and walking downhill the rain lessened. Everything looked rather muted.

I saw an interesting rock by the side of the way, it looked like the face of an old man with big eyebrows:

It stopped raining and we eventually reached Itero de la Vega, where we had café con leche and a croissant.

Onwards, it didn’t rain but it looked like it could start thundering and raining at any moment. It didn’t, fortunately for us. But the wind really picked up. It was very windy for the last 6K or so.

Big Clouds, Big Wind

We reached our destination, the Albergue Luz de Frómista, at about 2 in the afternoon. We bought food for dinner once the store opened at 5, made our food, ate, washed up … and then it started raining. Big, fat raindrops and loud thunder. The clouds were really impressive today!

Now I am in my room at the albergue, just resting. This is the view out of the window of my room:

Tomorrow it’s supposed to be dry. We will walk to Carrión de los Condes. Good night for now!
