Day 29, to Barbadelo

On the Camino last year my brother and I walked from Samos to Sarria where we stayed the night. The next day we took the bus from Sarria to a town 10 K before Santiago, stayed the night there, and the next morning walked the last 10 K into Santiago.

This year I am walking the 100 K we did by bus last year. It is terra incognita for me.

Related to that, I think it is interesting how some of the stretches we walked last year I hardly remember it all. But the stretches from yesterday and today I remember quite clearly from last year.

I remembered this rose bush from last year, and knew exactly where/when I would find it again.

But now I am about 5 km beyond Sarria, at an albergue called A Casa de Carmen. The albergueros are Italian and I hope to get a tasty meal this evening.

Here are some pictures from today’s Camino:

The first 11k of today’s Camino were a beautiful walk through fields and woods.
There are lots of cows in Galicia
Vines growing up a wall
Walking into Sarria, I am confronted with all these steps!
Lots of trees covered in vines before and after Sarria
Walking out of Sarria, there was this beautiful old bridge. The Camino goes over it.
There were some huge trees on the way out of Sarria.

Added later, after dinner. It was good!
